The only way to get near
Normal busses do not run on Parade days around the Sambodromo and the subway stations are far to walk.
Taxis have to drop you off well before the entrances as only specially licenced vehicles can get near and inside the Sambodromo. Most streets will be closed and it is difficult to navigate around to find your sector.

The Rio-Carnival special fleet of busses are exclusively licenced to take you right inside the venue, pass all the crowds. They will pick you up right from there, too, to whisk you right back home, when you you are tired.

Schedule

The Rio-Carnival busses run on Samba Parade days: Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Champion's Saturday.
Vehicles run very frequently towards the Sambodromo from 19:00 onwards. As the show only begins at 21:00, the first vehicles arrive at the Sambodromo just after 18:45, giving you enough time to get good seats in the grandstands.
Return vehicles leave the Sambodromo at the end of every school's parade from 23:00.
